Living in Tulsa, a Friendly OK City

When Beacon Homes decided to expand our new home communities beyond the Oklahoma City suburbs, it was easy to see where we should go. Tulsa, like Oklahoma City, is a vibrant, growing metropolitan area. Living in Tulsa offers an affordable cost of living, quality education, and an endless variety of things to do. So, broadening our horizon to the Tulsa area was an easy decision. As we looked closer at the surrounding Tulsa suburbs, we found the right location for the first Beacon Homes community here, Yorktown in Jenks.

Jenks is only 13 miles from Tulsa, less than 20 minutes away, so it’s ideal for anyone who wants easy access to the city but prefers the peaceful suburban lifestyle. You can take a short drive to the city and visit the Tulsa Zoo, Tulsa Cave House, Big Splash Water Park, Tulsa Air and Space Museum & Planetarium. Watch the Tulsa Drillers play at ONEOK Field. Explore the Discovery Lab at the Tulsa Children’s Museum or a performance at Tulsa Performing Arts Center. There are always interesting activities in Tulsa.

But when you want to come home to something less urban, Jenks is the place to live. Jenks was rated #1 on the list of “Best Suburbs to Raise a Family in the Tulsa Area” and #2 on “Best Places to Live in Oklahoma”, where it was described as “small town America at its finest!” The Bixby School District in Jenks earns top grades from GreatSchools for public schools.
